Open24.ie and ROS.ie are killing me!
Dear ROS.ie and Open24.ie. Please forward yourdomains.ie to www.yourdomains.ie. You’ve been annoying me for many moonnnthhhhssss!I am in the habit of typeing site.com, instead of www.site.com.Although technically different site, one should forward on to the other. This ensures that users such as yours truely are sent where they should be.It also ensures that the search engines pass on all the link juice you deserve. If people are linking to yoursite.com and it’s not fowarding on to www.yoursite.com then you’re not getting the value of those links unless you are forwarding that on.To do this simply open your .htaccess file in your root folder and add the following:rewritecond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.yoursite.com [nc]rewriterule ^(.*)$ http://yoursite.com/$1 [r=301,nc]This will foward www.yoursite.com on to http://yoursite.com
